A lot has happened since we last met, and yet, to me, it feels like no time has passed at all. I intended to write another blog post before this one, but as I seem to say rather frequently, life just happens sometimes and that is okay!
On 14th July 2022 I attended my GRADUATION! I am now officially a graduate! BA (Hons) Fine Art (1st), 2019 - 2022. I was definitely apprehensive about the ceremony, but it went so well. It finally hit me that I was really finished and leaving during the opening speech of the ceremony, and I did shed a few tears. At the end of the experience however, I was left with a feeling of pride, nostalgia and contentment; it was like my time at university had, had a neat little bow tied on top. My time there was a gift that I will treasure always.
Now my time at Aber truly feels complete, I can feel more positive and relaxed as I look forwards to the beginning of my Masters at NTU. With that in mind, I feel more motivated to continue my practice and distinctly less lost.
I have been starting to work on a collage/ paint experiment of MyCn 18 which, as I write this, I am more eager to progress than ever. I also already have some idea of what I want to explore with my paint next...
On July 12th 2022, the first full colour images and science data from the James Webb Space Telescope were released to the public! If you haven't seen them yet, open a new tab RIGHT NOW and look them up. They are spectacular. I am so excited for all the images to come and to learn about all the fantastic new science that has been made possible by this fantastic new space observatory; Webb is a true testimony to what we humans are capable of. ...As you may have guessed, I cannot wait to explore the new Webb images with my paint and already have my eye on the breath taking Stephan's Quintet!
For now, this is all I have to say, but hopefully I will be back in two weeks with many more art adventures to discuss and share with you. (Assuming I survive the coming heatwave... stay safe everyone!!)
Stay curious and creative, and I'll see you next time!
Anna.
