In September 2025, NASA made an exciting announcement: the Perseverance Rover (Percy) had discovered a potential biosignature on Mars. While this is still a tentative detection and will be extraordinary evidence before it can be confirmed, I knew I'd regret it if I didn't do something to mark the occasion. So, here is a new work inspired by the possible discovery of ancient microbial life on Mars! Who knows, in the future this painting may gain a sibling if the detection is confirmed.....
